Friends

I am so very thankful for many things. Too many to even sit down and list, but just to name a few: My ever growing relationships with God, Hubs and Kids, my church, my health, a roof, a car, an awesome job, etc.

But today...I just wanted to say that I am so thankful for friends!

Time-Tested friends: Those friends who thru thick and thin...ups and downs...arguments and disagreements, they are still someone I'm very glad to call my friend. They aren't going in anywhere and I know that!

Old Friends: Those friends who when you get together with them they just fit like an old pair of jeans. We pick up right where we left off talking a few weeks, months or even years ago! They do a heart mighty-good!

New Friends: Those friends in my life who are bringing a newness to me. Reminding me of who I am in Christ and why I even make a good friend at all! They sure are encouraging!

Telling-Me-The-Truth Friends: Those friends who aren't afraid to tell me the truth, even if it may hurt my feelers. This means more to me than anything, and it took me a long time to understand because for so many years I have had friends who only would tell me stuff out of jealousy or malice but make it look pretty on the front end. But these friends...they do it because they LOVE me. And because they love me, our relationships are sealed. I never have to worry about losing these friends.

Catch-up Friends: I love these friends too...the ones I only see every so often, but we catch up over lunch or on e-mail as often as we can. These friends remind me that God cares about all aspects of my life!

Seasonal Friends: These friends have taught me many things about myself. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly! While they may have only been my friend for a season of my life, I wouldn't be who I am without the areas in my life that were adjusted by my relationship with them.

I have had many friends in life thru the years. And I know God had purpose for each of them. All of my friends fit into one of these categories, some of them fit in more than one and some of them fit in all. But I must say...

"Thank You, God for who you have in my life at this very moment. Those I can laugh my head off with, be encouraged by, or use old napkins at a restaurant to dry our floods of tears. You have given me messengers to encourage and build me up and help me along my journey with You. I can't thank you enough for having higher ways than I! And bless my friends, Lord! Bless them all with more than they can handle!"

What about friends you've had to take to the hospital because they were overdosing on cough syrup? I think I fall into that category! You're definitely my "I'll stick by you even through your stalking phases" friend!
I love you, babe, and I thank God for you every day!
