It's the 2nd Week of Deer Camp...

And we got deer!

This weekend my entire family, including my mom and dad, went to Ashdown to stay at my in-laws house so the boys could go hunting and my kiddos could think they were going hunting. Saturday morning David got a doe and Saturday afternoon he got a 5-point. Then, Sunday morning my Daddy got a cute little "Bambi" as he called it.

But Saturday afternoon we got all dressed up and took the kids "to deer camp". All week long leading up to this weekend that's all we heard..."We're going to deer camp!" So, we played along. They got their camo and orange on and each got a grandpa and off we went. They got up in the box stand with Papa and "hunted" for deer. Luke swears he saw about 50 of them, but Belle was pretty sad that she didn't see any. She still liked going though. And, as you will see, at one point we looked out and saw David with "horns" on his head. Luke shot at that deer with his finger gun. Now, you can ask Luke to show you a buck and he'll put his hands on his head and say, "Buck. Non-typical".

After we got back we did our annual gingerbread house making, only this time we made it with graham crackers. Luke pretty much just snuck candy the entire time. Actually, while I was getting the candies all unwrapped and on the table, the kids were playing in the floor. Luke stood up to say something to Mimi and his eyes got the size of my fist when he saw it all on the table. He screamed, "IT'S CANDY TIME!" and jumped up in a chair and dove for the plates of candy.

It was a pure joy trying to get him down for bedtime after that.

Yes.

Anyway, since there were so many photos, I figured the good ol' slide show might work better. Enjoy...

What a great slide show! I must admit, I liked the gingerbread houses better than the dead deer! LOL!

Come see me today. I tagged you!
