Bless Her Heart

After a very high week last week of Baby Girl at school, I picked her up yesterday in TEARS!

I knew it would happen sooner or later. I just hoped it would be later.

She got her first "D".

In spelling.

Who, What, When, Where, Why, Were

She missed 2.

She was DEVASTATED and couldn't stop crying with her Daddy.

God love her, she is just like me.

But let me say this now, too. She is one determined little girl to learn those words for they whole class is re-doing them this week.

Watch out, spelling re-do. I feel you are going down.

Bless her! I remember when you cried because you got a B. I didn't know what had happened to you. I thought it was something really terrible. I guess it was really terrible to you!

I know it is devastating now, but this may possibly be the best thing that could happen to her. You see, she is finding out at a young age that it is OK make a low grade occasionally. Through this she will learn it is not the end of the world. Life will go on and she will be a much better student as a result. I know..I was the same way...put a lot of pressure on myself to make straight A's on everything. I would make myself sick over it. My Mother told me she used to pray that I would make a B occasionally so I could see that it didn't cause the world to stop turning. She is very conscientious and I am sure this will prompt her to be more diligent in her studying from now on. As you said, "Look out spelling re-do test. You are going down!"
