A Real Friend

All my life I've had friends.
Fair weather Friends.
Seasonal Friends.
BFFs (who after you parted ways weren't really).
BFFs (who I still see occasionally).
Boyfriends.
Church Friends.
Girl Friends.

But NEVER have I ever had a friend like this one.

*note...the photographer was not looking her best this day...please disregard the poor planning on my part...thank you*

Tammy Goodin has taught me a lot about what it means to really be a friend. She has taught me that real friends step beyond the caddy ways that females tend to be. She has taught me that real friends only have one single, solitary goal in mind for you.

For your good!

Never once do I ever doubt a word that comes out of her mouth is for my good. My betterment. Out of a heart of love so full that it's almost as if I were just a younger version of herself.

A plumper, redder, shorter version too!

But that's how deep the love goes.

Never once have I EVER felt any kind of competitive spirit coming from her that sometimes comes from girl friends. Never once have I ever questioned that something she said or did wasn't out of pure desire to encourage me. Edify me.

A real friend.

I posted something about her some time ago that I feel is ok to share again. Click here to read it. We won, but opted to give it away to someone else. I just wanted the opportunity to share with the world who this woman is!

And the funny thing is, in all of our almost 7 years of closeness (almost 9 years acquainted) we realized one very strange thing.

We've never had our picture taken together.

We've done some C-R-A-Z-Y things were people have snapped our pics doing what we do best (aka: embarrassing someone), but never a photo all our own.

Now we do, and I'm ever so thankful!

So thankful, in fact, I feel it's ok to share another one.

So what if sometimes I wanna wring her neck for calling me out on some things? Isn't that what friends are for?
